All Coffee Lovers can be divided in at least two groups. The ones who buy their Coffee and don’t have time to deal with making their own Coffee, and those who love Coffee enough to try to duplicate their favorite cup at home. There’s no need to stress if you belong in the second group. My own personal mission is to ease your mind and guide you towards buying the ideal machine for you.
For all of you who want to master Coffee art at home, but don’t know in which Espresso Machine to invest, I’ll try to do my best to simplify the process of buying the best Espresso Machine for home use.
Coffee Or Espresso Machine
Are you overwhelmed by all the offers out there? Does the price matter in your case? You’re probably afraid of buying the cheapest one, but when you read the description, there aren’t that many differences between the cheapest one and the one in the middle on the price range. Don’t worry. No need for panic.
Price is just one of the factors. It is not the most important one. The important factor is your reason for buying a Coffee Machine. Let me explain first what is the difference between Coffee and Espresso Machine. Coffee Machine is, like the name says, any machine in the world that would make Coffee after being turned on. There is filtered Coffee, Turkish Coffee Maker, Coffee Mokka and so on, but the Espresso Machine is specialized type of the Coffee machine. It serves to make Espresso and all Espresso based drinks.
So, if you’re one of the Coffee lovers who wants to make a home-made Cappuccino or Mocha, Espresso Machine is the answer for you.
Espresso Machine For Beginners
Basic Espresso Machine rarely comes with a grinder. If you’re looking to grind your own Coffee as well, you are going to spend a bit more money. However, if the grinding process doesn’t interest you, at least in the beginning, there are many Espresso machines for you out there. Actually, why would you even be concerned with grinding your own Coffee, when there’s so many options out there. Even your favorite Coffee shop offers their own ground Coffee in their shop, I’m sure.
In that case, I would definitely recommend De’Longhi EC155 15BAR Pump Espresso and Cappuccino Maker. It has no grinder, but eventually if that becomes your interest, you can always buy a separate grinder and incorporate it at home.
You needn’t stress about grinding in the beginning, first you have to find ground Coffee good enough for your taste, than master the Coffee artistry. Grinding is something that could only confuse you in the beginning.
De ‘Longhi EC155 is very practical, and you can use ground Coffee and Coffee pods as well. It comes with two different thermostats, one for the steamer and for the water temperature. Has a jet frother which is going to make perfect Latte and Cappuccino milk every time and is very easy to clean. The last thing should also be a factor when you’re buying an Espresso Machine for home. You cannot put Espresso maker in the dishwasher, but certain parts can be detached and washed in the dishwasher or manually. However, it is very important to clean your Espresso maker after preparing Coffee and in detail.
Espresso Machine For Experts
Don’t get me wrong here. De’Longhi EC155 can very easily be used by experts as well. Actually for experts it is a piece of cake, getting used to it, especially because it doesn’t grind Coffee. It is just a matter of price. If you’re an expert, and you already know exactly what you like, but you don’t like grinding Coffee, De’Longhi is the perfect choice for you. It is not expensive, it comes in variety of colors, and because it’s compact and smaller than your usual Espresso machines, it fits in every kitchen, no matter the size.
For all of you that want a bit more from your usual Espresso machine, and have no issues with money, I recommend Breville BES870SL Barista Express Espresso Machine.
It is Baristas dream. It has incorporated grinder and an option how much Coffee you want to grind. The steamer is far easier to use than the one on De’Longhi EC155, and this Espresso machine comes with a cleaning button and the cleaning kit. Also, the tamper is included, which you need to press ground Coffee with.
Breville BES870SL is also a good bragging object. It’s made of stainless steel which gives it that shiny ‘look at me, I’m from the future‘ look. Beautiful, practical and packed together with all the necessary tools like jug, group handle and group handles baskets and shower screens.
Cleaning Your Espresso Machine
So, you’ve made your perfect cup of Coffee and you feel like you should win an award. The best feeling ever. Then you take another look at your new kitchen helper and it’s dirty. Admiring your cup of Coffee can wait a bit, because you absolutely need to CLEAN your Espresso maker after using it, if you want to use it for a long time. Coffee is tricky. While it is a base for your favorite drink, and a great tool for cleaning and getting rid of odors, it will get back at you if you don’t clean it properly.
Coffee residue tends to stick to objects that touch it. You won’t be able to use the same cloth for cleaning the Espresso maker, even if it’s the best cloth. No way. Be sure to always have more disposable cloths handy. Residue sticks to the cloth and is impossible to clean the cloth of every single Coffee grain.
The group handle has to be soaked in the detergent for a while because you want all the remaining grains to dissolve as much as possible. If you have some remaining Coffee grains in your group handle before you’re using it again, your Coffee can come out burnt and hard on your stomach. Always wipe your machine with a gentle cloth after using it.
The steamer should be wiped with a wet cloth after every steaming, doesn’t matter what milk you used. It is mandatory. After wiping it, turn it on again, facing it away from you and let the steam out once more. You want to get rid of all the milk residue as well, so it doesn’t get clogged.
Keep your Espresso machine as clean as possible and you’ll have a Coffee making friend for a very long time.
Closing The Deal
Basically, bear in mind that your Espresso machine, which ever you’re going to buy is supposed to serve you. There’s no need to be afraid of using one or learning how to use it.
They don’t have to be expensive to make good Espresso, and don’t have to have fancy additions to make the best home-made Espresso. Besides, you can always add a bit more of the secret ingredient, the love, to make it specially customized for you and our loved ones.
I sincerely hope I made this decision easier. If you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to leave them below, and I’ll tend to them with haste.
